Joshua J. Joachim, State Chief Operations Officer

Joshua Joachim is a Mississippi Gulf Coast native and has been with the American Red Cross for five years. Prior to Hurricane Katrina, he was a small business owner whose business was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Following Hurricane Katrina, he accepted a position with the American Red Cross as Sr. Associate Program Support and provided oversight for local projects with the National Hurricane Recovery Program. He held responsibilities as fiscal agent for the American Red Cross donor dollar. His expertise is community and public relations and program management/development. Joshua is the recipient of multiple recognitions for program management and was the recipient of an award for "Best Practices in Project Management" through the American Red Cross in 2008. Joshua is a board member of South Mississippi VOAD and holds other committee affiliations within the community. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University.

Jackson County Leaders Broke Ground on One of Three New FEMA 361 Disaster Shelters.
Jackson County leaders broke ground today, July 12th, at the site of one of three new FEMA 361 disaster shelters. The 10,000 square foot building will be complete in late spring 2012. One is located in St. Martin; this one is in Vancleave, and the third one is in East Central.
